Section 08 · Contact and engagement

Write to the advisory desk with the documents, not with the summary

A first enquiry is more useful to us with the registration certificate, the licence and the notice attached than with a description of them. We read the file before the call, and the call is then about what to do rather than about what the position is.

Enquiry form

This form is provided for convenience. It is a static page with no server behind it and does not transmit anything on submission. To reach us in fact, please write to advisory@stateman.net or telephone the office.

We reply from an address at stateman.net. Please check the spam folder if nothing arrives within two working days.

If a notice carries a return date or a hearing date, state it here. That date governs everything else.

Please do not attach or paste employee personal data, complaint records under the POSH Act, 2013, or any document subject to Section 16 confidentiality into a first enquiry. We will tell you how to send those securely once the engagement is scoped.

How an engagement is scoped

Stage 01

File reading

We read what you send and state the position as we find it, including the parts that are unfavourable. This ordinarily takes two to four working days and is not charged where the matter does not proceed.

Stage 02

Scope note

A short written note setting out what requires action, in what order, on what timeline, and what falls outside our remit. Fees are stated against each item rather than as a single figure.

Stage 03

Execution

A named consultant and a named field officer are assigned. Filings are made with acknowledgements returned to you; nothing is reported as done on the strength of a submission alone.

Stage 04

Calendar handover

Where the engagement is recurring, the registration numbers, expiry dates, issuing offices and custodian names pass into a maintained calendar, with renewal files opened sixty days ahead.

Getting here

The office is a short walk from Nehru Place Metro Station on the Violet Line, on the Kalkaji Main Road side. Visitors arriving by car should allow additional time; parking around Nehru Place is constrained on weekday afternoons and the Kalkaji stretch is one-way in parts. Please carry photographic identification for the building reception, and let us know the day before if you are bringing physical files so that a meeting room is held.

We are equally able to meet at your premises, and for inspection preparation we would generally prefer to, since the registers, the notice board and the visit book are all there and none of them travel well.
